The next release of IBM® i is here, and it comes with simplified security and availability.
IBM i 7.5 makes security and availability simpler with new options and tools extending client investments. The enhancements can help IT teams focus on adding value to business applications rather than infrastructure availability.
Visit the IBM i Seismic page to download the latest information and encourage your clients to attend the COMMON webcast series this week featuring IBM i experts for all the details on the latest release.
IBM i is now available as an annual subscription at the P05 license level. Clients can run software licenses and support in one to five year terms and be billed annually. This helps users keep their technology current, lower the total cost of acquisition, and provides increased flexibility by shifting IT spending from CapEx to OpEx. The announcement includes a new product. The IBM i Modernization Engine for Lifecycle Integration, also known as Merlin, brings a new application development and modernization environment for IBM i users.
Merlin is a set of tools that run in Red Hat® OpenShift® containers to guide and assist software developers in the modernization of IBM i applications. Merlin integrates industry-standard tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Visual Studio Code for cloud-native development and increased developer productivity, making it easier for IBM Business Partners to deliver more value to clients with speed and simplicity.
